Area of Expertise
Dr. James has published numerous articles in popular and scientific press in the areas of dairy calf and heifer nutrition as well and feeding management of the lactating and dry cow herds. His research has been directed towards development of milk replacers and management strategies for dairy calf and heifer management. In addition he has evaluated the impact of feed management software on whole farm nutrient balance and feeding efficiency. He is involved with dairy calf and heifer management consulting throughout the U.S. and several countries in Europe and South America. He is a founding member of the Dairy Calf and Heifer Association.
