Joseph C. Dalton, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor and Extension Dairy Specialist at the University of Idaho. Dr. Dalton's research in applied male and female reproductive physiology focuses on factors important to increasing the efficiency of artificial insemination (A.I.) in dairy cattle, including timing of insemination relative to onset of estrus, synchronization programs, and AI technician proficiency. Dr. Dalton has published original research in the Journal of Animal Science, Journal of Dairy Science, and Theriogenology, as well as popular press articles in The Progressive Dairyman and Hoard's Dairyman magazines. He has been invited to give presentations at conferences and producer meetings throughout the United States, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Mexico and Brazil.
