Area of Expertise
Dr. Jerry Jones specializes in milking management and mastitis prevention, and recently expanded his program to include dairy production food safety and dairy environmental stewardships. He developed a highly effective Cooperative Extension program in managed milking and mastitis control and was instrumental in the establishment of Area Dairy Agent positions. In fact, the idea of area programming has been adopted across Virginia Cooperative Extension with dairy being the prototype.
