Area of Expertise
Dr. De Vries' research is focused on quantitative dairy systems management, including optimization of cow culling and replacement strategies under herd constraints, economics of reproductive strategies, productive life, animal health economics, statistical process control, and business analysis. He serves on the Animal Sciences / Forages Extension Commodity Focus Team planning committee, chairs the annual Florida Dairy Production Conference and manages the Florida Dairy Extension website. In addition, Dr. De Vries teaches Dairy Management Systems, an undergraduate capstone course for the Dairy Option - Animal Industry Specialization of the major in Animal Sciences.
